We are searching for a vibrant part-time tour guide captain to join our boat touring company located on Lake Union. The tour guide's responsibilities include captaining The Beverly, a Duffy electric boat, welcoming customers to the tour, familiarizing customers with the local history of lake union, and ensuring that the group always remains safe.
To ensure success as a tour guide, you should be an excellent storyteller with a knack for customer service. An outstanding tour guide will perform minor alterations to each itinerary to suit the unique interests of each group.
Boat Tour Guide Responsibilities:
Greeting and welcoming customers to the tour.
Operating a 22’ Duffy electric boat and navigating the waters of Lake Union adhering to boating laws and navigation rules.
Entertaining customers on the water and educating them about the history of Lake Union.
Serving beverages and/or food as needed.
Cleaning the boat after every tour, check batteries and fill with water as needed. Plug boat in and secure boat as needed.
Tour Guide Requirements:
Boaters License & history navigating a boat on Lake Union.
Prior experience as a tour guide is advantageous.
Adherence to prescribed safety codes on the water.
Excellent conversational skills with a knack for storytelling.
Personable, humorous disposition
Passionate about traveling.
21+ years old
Ability to work during evenings and on weekends.
We are looking for 2 part-time tour guide captains for various hours Wednesday – Sunday.
Main tour guide captain (min 20 hours/week) Wednesday-Friday 4pm-9pm Saturday 4:30pm-9:30pm and on call for Sundays.
Backup tour guide captain (min 6 hours/week) Saturdays 10:30am-4:30pm on call Sundays between 10:30am-8pm and occasional backup during weekdays as needed.
