We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our cooperative community. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in childhood development and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating learning environment. Unlike other preschools, parents at Capitol Forest are active in the classroom, partnering with you in shaping our students' educational experiences. You are not only providing our students engaging lesson plans and activities, you are ensuring the growth and development of the whole family in the first steps of their academic journey.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote learning in the areas of art, music, dramatic play, sensory exploration, science, carpentry, cooking, outdoor play, and language.

Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages community building.

Foster social, emotional, and cognitive development through interactive activities and play-based learning.

Assess children's progress regularly and adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention.

Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's development, behavior, and educational progress.

Maintain a clean and organized classroom that meets safety standards.

Collaborate with other educators to enhance the overall educational experience for all students at our preschool.

Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.

Qualifications:

Current CPR/First Aid Card.

Pass WA State Patrol Background Check.

Experience in working with children 2-5 years old in a preschool setting.

Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and practices in accordance to NAEYC Standards.

Familiarity with lesson planning techniques that cater to diverse learning styles.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for teaching young children.

Maintain professionalism and be adaptable to change.
