Operations Leader?
West Coast Entertainment is the Northwest’s leading event planning company. Since 1978, we’ve worked with high schools, corporate and non-profit clients, individuals, and groups. Entertainment is our passion. We sell and execute fun 400 times a year. Casino Parties, Picnics, Outdoor Movies, and High School Graduation events are our main categories of fun, but we will do anything that entertains. We have an amazing team and we need one more. Tired of working 9 to 5 and having no fun at all?
We are now looking for our Operations Leader. We can’t stress how important this position is and what an impact you will make!
Our employees are our family and working for West Coast Entertainment is more of a lifestyle than a job. After COVID, we moved to a model where everyone works from home, so officially this position is “work from home”. But, everyone is active on MS Teams, communicating constantly. Constantly.
We have warehouse space in Burien and execute many events in the Seattle and Eastside area so it would make the most sense if you lived around those areas. We hope to relocate into a larger space over the next couple of years so you will be instrumental in that process as well.
You would be responsible for the execution of our events and overseeing our warehouse and truck operations. We have a small fleet of 6 vehicles and a warehouse full of equipment. You should be able to lift 70 pounds and be ok with working hard when you need to and having fun when you are not. Our equipment at times needs repairs, so comfort with power tools would be awesome.
Although it is flexible, you may find yourself working some evenings and some weekends. The goal isn’t for you to work these events so much as to make sure they are staffed, the equipment is ready to go, and the warehouse and trucks are ready to roll. - Should mention - you should be comfortable with standard computer programs like Word, Excel, Outlook and computers in general.
In October we train and hire. In December and January– Holiday events are our focus. In June, Graduation parties take center stage. In July and August, we produce over 50 outdoor movie events – (so experience with AV would be great). Then, it starts all over again!
You would work closely with the owners to help grow the company. The owners have an entrepreneurial spirit and are always looking for ways to grow the company. They have purchased 7 small companies in 7 years.
Pay rate is $25 an hour, up to 40 hours a week + operation bonus at apx 10k a year, but will grow as we grow. Also included are health/dental benefits. Because we are slower at different times of the year, we off more paid days off than you would ever expect to see. We call them “refresh” days and are extra days around holidays or school/bank holidays. We are pretty lax with time off as long as it is not during our busing season.
