Prevailing Wage Specialist

Description We are seeking a Prevailing Wage Specialist, located in Redmond, Washington. This role focuses on the accurate and efficient processing of prevailing wage hours and certified payroll into the payroll software. This position is a contract role with potent to be a contract to hire employment opportunity and offers a chance to work in a dynamic and fast-paced workplace. This role will start in office for training and then can go to a hybrid work schedule.Responsibilities: Process and code prevailing wage hours accurately into the payroll software. Handle and file required prevailing wage forms and reports. Record and manage certified payroll in the system. Prepare and submit certified payroll reports as per prevailing wage regulations. Collaborate with the sales team to understand upcoming prevailing wage jobs. Respond to employee inquiries about pay in a timely and efficient manner. Assist other payroll team members in processing payroll when necessary. Accurately calculate wages, benefits, and deductions according to prevailing wage rates and applicable laws. Ensure compliance with prevailing wage regulations in all payroll activities. Utilize advanced problem-solving skills to address and resolve payroll issues.Requirements Demonstrated experience in the role of a Payroll Specialist or similar role within finance Proficiency in payroll systems and software Understanding of prevailing wage and certified payroll requirements Strong knowledge of payroll best practices Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Experience in data collection, entry and reporting with great attention to detail and confidentiality Outstanding organizational and time management skills Excellent communication abilities with aptitude in problem-solving High school diploma or equivalent; BSc/BA in business, accounting or relevant field is a plus.
