Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in Redmond, Washington. In this role, you will be handling a variety of tasks related to accounts payable, involving invoice processing and vendor setup, among other responsibilities. This role is based in the telecom industry and requires a keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills. Responsibilities: Process and manage a substantial number of invoices on a weekly basis Determine the appropriate job for each invoice to be charged to, including some prepaids Route invoices to Project Managers for approval and conduct check runs Set up vendors, which includes obtaining W-9's Handle subcontract invoices as necessary Utilize software such as Spectrum Viewpoint and Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, for various tasks Maintain and update accurate records of all transactions Resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise in accounts payable processes Ensure all accounts payable duties are performed in a timely and efficient manner Monitor and follow up on pending invoices requiring approval and payment. Requirements Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) procedures and operations Experience with Viewpoint Vista software Strong skills in Microsoft Excel Ability to maintain accurate and detailed financial records Experience in preparing, verifying, and processing invoices Ability to manage vendor queries and build strong relationships Capable of maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion in dealing with sensitive financial information Proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and time management abilities High level of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to continually update skills and knowledge in the field of accounts payable Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
