As a Chef/Cook at The Markets, you will
Create, adapt and standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality
Calculate recipe costs to make sure they meet The Markets price requirements
Maintain presentation and quality standards
Test recipes and menus
Alert the deli manager of new food trends in the industry and suggest new dishes
And of course, use your skills to supply our customers with fresh, delicious meals.
We’re looking for candidates with:
At least one (1) year experience cooking in a hospitality or retail food environment
Excellent and varied culinary skills and techniques; a culinary degree will be a plus
Experience cooking and developing recipes that cover a wide variety of flavor profiles, such as
Regional US and international cuisines
Preferential cooking (vegetarian, vegan, religious-based diets)
Allergy-related awareness (nuts, dairy, gluten-free, shellfish)
Commercial production experience (preferred)
Strong knowledge of food-preparation materials, methods and equipment
Experience in ordering and inventory control systems
Strong math skills and the ability to understand units of measure
