We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Flooring Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in flooring, with hands-on experience in various tasks related to flooring refinishing, installation, maintenance and repair. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to quality workmanship, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
As a Floor Refinishing Technician, you will be responsible for restoring and refinishing wood floors to their original beauty. You will work with a variety of tools and materials to sand, stain, and finish floors while ensuring top-notch results and customer satisfaction.
Duties
Sand, refinish, and restore hardwood floors to achieve a polished, smooth finish.
Apply stains, sealers, and finishes according to customer specifications and industry standards.
Perform routine floor maintenance, including cleaning, buffing, and polishing various types of flooring surfaces.
Occasionally install new hard surface flooring (unfinished, prefinished, vinyl, laminate).
Utilize hand tools effectively for various repair and maintenance tasks.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored after use.
Ensure work is completed within the agreed timeline while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Adhere to safety standards and company policies during all job activities.
Qualifications
Proven experience in floor refinishing or a related trade is preferred.
Strong knowledge of various wood types, finishes, and refinishing techniques.
Ability to use sanding and finishing equipment safely and effectively.
Excellent attention to detail and high standards of craftsmanship.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Must be able to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform physical labor.
A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
Ability to work flexible hours as needed, including occasional weekends.
