Accountant | Richmond, VAJob Description:Seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the year-end close process, performing account reconciliations, handling accruals, and leading a goodwill amortization project for our insurance agencies.Key Responsibilities: Year-End Close: Oversee and execute the year-end close process, ensuring all financial activities are accurately recorded and reported in compliance with GAAP. Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including bank statements, to maintain accurate financial records. Accruals: Manage the recording of accruals for expenses and revenues, ensuring timely and accurate reflection in financial statements. Goodwill Amortization Project: Lead a project to amortize goodwill for our insurance agencies, which includes analyzing the value of acquired entities and preparing amortization schedules. Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and company policies. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.Skills and Qualifications: 3+ years of Accounting experience in Reconciliations, month end, quarter end, & YE close. Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
