Senior Accountant

Description We are offering a role in the insurance industry based in Richmond, Virginia, for a Sr. Accountant. This role involves a wide range of responsibilities including account reconciliation, general ledger management, and month-end close procedures. This position will require a strong understanding of balance sheet reconciliation, journal entries, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and prior experience working with an ERP. Responsibilities: Conduct account reconciliation on a regular basis to ensure accuracy Manage the general ledger and ensure all entries are accurate and up to date Perform month-end close procedures diligently and in a timely manner Utilize Microsoft Excel to perform complex calculations and create financial reports Use NetSuite for various accounting functions and reporting Prepare and post journal entries as part of the accounting cycle Assist in balance sheet reconciliation tasks to verify account balances Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and reports Collaborate with other team members to improve and streamline accounting processes Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.Requirements Minimum of five years of experience as an Accountant Proficiency in Account Reconciliation and Balance Sheet Reconciliation Extensive knowledge of General Ledger maintenance and Journal Entries Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Experience in performing Month End Close procedures Experience with NetSuite software a plus Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
