Howard Center is seeking full-time, part-time, and subbing candidates to fill a variety of positions within our residential programs. MUST HAVE: Drivers license, ability to transport clients, and human services experience. Roles are based in Chittenden County.

Acute Residential Counselor Floater - Developmental Services

The residential programs are modeled off a home setting serving clients whose needs are complex and range in intensity.

Responsibilities:

Initiate constructive activities that address goals on a client's Individual Support Agreement (treatment plan)

Implement the support and crisis plans (utilizing Therapeutic Options training), in collaboration with the greater treatment team.

Facilitate community inclusion, daily living, and skill acquisition

Utilization of sound judgement and maintenance of clam demeanor during crisis

Provide needed behavioral and/or mental health support

Provide needed personal and/or medical care

Requirements:

Three to four years of experience in a human services or combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skill has been acquired

High school degree or equivalent

Routine lifting

Valid driver's license, and use of a personal vehicle

Ability to work either Saturday or Sunday

Experience with de escalation techniques

Committed to trauma-informed approach

Person-centered

Structure:

Varied schedules including weekend and evening hours

Travel within Chittenden County

Residential homes located in Burlington, Colchester, & Essex

Non-exempt

AFSCME Union (dues will apply)

Starting at $22.30 an hour

We offer a competitive salary commensurate to experience
