POSITION SUMMARY:
Elevate Youth Services is seeking a 100% FTE (37.5 hours/week) Master’s level clinician to provide individual counseling, case management, and crisis intervention for youth ages 12-22 in the Washington County area who are at risk for homelessness, have run away or been pushed out of their homes and are at risk of involvement with the Juvenile Justice/Child Welfare system. The counselor will be responsible for responding to incoming referrals and determining the appropriate course of action; will manage a caseload of 15-20 clients; and will develop and implement an individual plan of care for each case. The Counselor is responsible for comprehensive case management, quality documentation and complying with data collection and reporting requirements. All administrative, clinical and case management services are completed under the supervision of the Director of the Country Roads Program.
This position includes 7.5 to 11.25 hours per week serving EYS’s Return House Program, a residential housing program based in Barre, VT for young men under the care of the Department for Children and Families. The program aims to help youth transition back to their communities. Youth served by the program are males between the ages of 16 through 22 and have a history of DCF involvement that could include homelessness, involvement with the Juvenile Justice system, and behavioral support needs. Duties will include individual youth counseling, group counseling and case coordination with Return House staff and other providers. The services at Return House will be overseen by the Return House Director.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide individual therapy with opportunities to train for family counseling
Meet regularly with clients in person (at office, school, community provider)
Meet with clients, families, treatment teams or community partners as determined to develop goal-oriented plans and to monitor and document progress
Facilitate transportation needs/plans when needed
Provide case management or resource coordination
Conduct intakes and assessments
Facilitation of a weekly therapeutic group for Return House participants
Maintain all necessary program documentation, setting and meeting outlined program outcomes and measures
Participate in on-call program rotation as scheduled (24/7 on-call generally 3-4 times per year including additional compensation)
Actively support and maintain relationships with the shelter parents program
Attend regularly scheduled supervisory, clinical support and program meetings
Represent EYS mission and positive relationships
Attend workshops and trainings in the field with supervisory permission to maintain licensure or apprenticeship certification and implement effective practices learned
Other duties as assigned by supervisor or EYS Administrative Team
QUALIFICATIONS:
An advanced degree (MS, MA, MSW, PhD. etc.) in Human Services, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or a related field, with a demonstrated knowledge of family-centered, strength-based practice, positive youth development and prevention-based practices
Experience counseling youth or young adults
Valid driver’s license with good driving record

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
This is a full-time (100% FTE, 37.5 hours per week) position within the Country Roads Program, a collaborative team of three members: a part-time Director (60% FTE) and two Counselors (one full-time at 100% FTE and one part-time at 60% FTE). The team meets formally at least once per week, and individual supervision is provided weekly to support professional growth and effective case management. Client treatment and case management at EYS are highly collaborative, fostering a team-oriented approach.
All EYS staff participate in a monthly morning meeting and periodic staff development activities. Ample professional development opportunities are available, particularly those supporting the maintenance of licensing requirements.
This role involves operating standard office equipment, including keyboards, and requires close visual acuity for tasks such as viewing computer monitors, entering electronic data, and completing forms. Candidates must have the physical mobility to move short distances, carry lightweight materials, and drive a vehicle. Local travel is an essential part of the role, with occasional long-distance travel for professional development activities.

SPECIAL NOTES:
Elevate Youth Services (EYS) will provide health insurance coverage for benefit-eligible employees through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont. EYS will contribute $640 per month toward each employee’s premium. Employees may select from multiple plan options offered by Blue Cross Blue Shield to best meet their individual needs. Any premium costs exceeding the $640 monthly contribution will be the employee’s responsibility and will be applied as pre-tax payroll deductions.
