The company's culture and core values focus on safety, integrity, teamwork and excellence.SummaryPlans, organizes, directs, and supervises a nuclear security shift to ensure compliance with NRC regulatory commitments. Directly supervises South Texas Project (STP) Security Leads and a uniformed force of Security Officers. Additional responsivities, when assigned, would include to provide overall administrative and technical supervision of the Performance Assessment Section to meet internal assessment, inspection, and evaluation requirements.EDUCATION High School Diploma or equivalentEXPERIENCE 5 years armed Security Officer at a Nuclear facility (Required) 4 years US Military with an Honorable Discharge, Law Enforcement, security operations, security systems, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, or other field associated with a Nuclear Security Program (Preferred) 2 years supervisory responsibilities (Preferred)LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS Firearms qualification with handgun and rifle per STP site training and qualification plan.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Meet and maintain the mental, physical, psychological, and training requirements of Appendix B to Part 73 General Criteria for Security Personnel Ensures compliance with NRC requirements for the physical security and protection of the plant. Shift Briefings: Prepares and ensures shift personnel's readiness for duty to include fitness for duty, physical and mental condition, status of individual equipment, and appearance. Uses shift briefing to conduct roll call, issue post assignments, pass in formation, and update current plant status, security status and changes to posts. Additionally, shift briefings should be used to recognize deserving personnel for exceptional behaviors or performance. Performance Monitoring: Supervises, directs, and evaluates frontline personnel performance against established policies, procedures, standards and expectations, and provides feedback reinforcing expected behaviors and performance, and coaches to improve identified gaps. Effectively utilizes the Observation Program to document, track, and trend shift performance. Coordinates Work activities: Coordinates procedurally driven activities for Security personnel and, where feasible, rotate employees between post assignments to maintain proficiency. Identifies critical/regulatory post requirements and allocate manpower to ensure critical/regulatory posts are manned. Verifies worker qualifications before employees begin work. Directs the deployment of armed response members of the Security force to deal with contingency events. Administers and supervises on the job training of assigned personnel. Ensures that all components of the plant security system are inspected and tested at required intervals and requires that Work Requests are initiated on discovered deficiencies.
