The Yee Laboratory at MD Anderson Cancer Center focuses on research to understand human T cell biology, anti-tumor immunity, and the development of translational strategies using TCR-based cellular therapies. This position will support the scientific needs of the Immunopeptidome discovery pipeline within the STRIDE Program for TCR-Based Therapeutics (ProTCT). The ultimate goal of ProTCT is to deliver novel T cell-based treatment modalities for advanced cancers, investigate T cell based-responses across the IO spectrum and contribute to MD Anderson's mission to make Cancer History.Key Functions

Design and perform high quality lab research through their own work or in collaboration with team members.

Apply practical knowledge of immunology and cell-based assays including cytotoxicity, cell proliferation, and/or cytokine secretion to assess T cell functionality.

Expertise in planning, performing, and analyzing flow cytometric assays to characterize T cell phenotype.

Proficient in culturing and manipulation of primary immune cells and cancer cell lines.

Possess significant knowledge of immunology and cell therapy approaches to apply to every day experimental needs.

Support and Continuity

Participate in the design of experiments, data analysis and results interpretation.

Aide in evaluating new and novel methods to validate immunogenic peptides presented by MHC.

Support molecular biology studies to identify relevant anti-tumor TCRs.

Participate in lab and team discussions on project progress, results, and future directions.

Adopt and evaluate existing methods and tools, improve methods, establish and maintain infrastructure and analytic pipelines in the lab within the immunopeptidome focus area.

Meets with collaborators to discuss projects and communicate results.

Work with teams of individuals to integrate data / metadata and assist postdocs and students in the lab in analyzing and resolving analysis issues.

Assist with manuscript and grant preparation and present results during lab meetings, at department and institutional meetings and seminars, and at appropriate scientific conferences.

Employ safe laboratory practices and help to maintain current and accurate records of research data.
