Environmental Water, Waste, SPCC Specialist Job ID #: 28747 Location: TX-HOUSTON Functional Area: Environmental Position Type: Full Time Experience Required: 3 - 5 Years Relocation Provided: No Education Required: Bachelors Degree RC/Department: 0349 -EHS FIELD ENVIRONMENTAL SRVCS :KMI Position Description Staff level Environmental Compliance Specialist or Environmental Engineer to support Mid-Stream and pipeline operations focusing on the areas of water, waste and SPCC compliance.

Ideal candidate will have MINIMUM 3 years related experience, including experience in waste management, water permitting compliance, analytical data collection and interpretation, SPCC plan management, Tier II reporting, training on environmental topics, emergency response and incident reporting.

Position involves a great deal of autonomy and discretion in scheduling site visits and business travel while working in a flexible work schedule. Therefore candidate must be able to work independently and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Job level, title, and pay commensurate with experience and skill set.

Work Schedule

Flexible Work Schedule Option (3 days office, 2 days home/remote)

9/80 Work Week Option (9hr days with every other Friday off)

Position Requirements

Position Requirements

Prior industrial environmental compliance experience or related consulting experience, with specific oil and gas experience a plus.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, or environmental sciences preferred.

Minimum 3 years related experience

Travel estimated to be 10% overnight with 20% local driving on an on-going basis.

Pre-employment background check, and drug screening, is required.

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.

Ability to climb stairs, traverse rugged terrain on foot, carry up to 50 pounds and occasional travel by air.

The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.

Job duties include, but may not be limited to :

Support Operations in the management of non-hazardous waste, RCRA and State hazardous waste, TENORM waste, Mixed Waste, and Universal Waste. This includes:

coordinating waste disposal options, facilitating waste pickups by contractors, or providing technical guidance to facility personnel on the proper management of wastes.

Prepare waste determinations, RCRA SQG Emergency Preparedness Plans, and RCRA LQG Contingency Plans; communicate plans to emergency responders. Provide Operations with event-specific training when elevated waste generator status occurs.

Preparation, review and approval of Waste Management Plans for construction projects and development or updates to fixed facility plans.

Periodically conduct and document third party waste disposal company audits to determine acceptable use by the Company, per company protocols.

Ensure SPCC Plans are prepared in accordance with 40 CFR Part 112 for applicable facilities, conduct annual SPCC training for field operations, and ensure proper inspections are completed and documented appropriately.

Spill/Release support including agency notifications to appropriate regulators, providing technical assistance with cleanup to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

Complete compliance activities associated with authorized storm water and waste water discharge permits, including submitting of discharge monitoring reports and pollution prevention plan management/training.

Interpret EHS regulations and advise management of impacts of requirements.
