Another Source’s client, Sabey Construction Inc.—a key division of Sabey Data Centers—is seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager to join their growing on-site team in Austin, Texas.

About the role

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing complex construction projects with a strong focus on Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) subcontractor coordination. This role ensures that MEP systems are designed, installed, tested, and commissioned in alignment with project specifications, codes, and client expectations. The role also includes frequent interaction with clients, subcontractors, engineers, and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality, mission-critical infrastructure projects. 

Principal Accountabilities

Managing small complex critical infrastructure construction projects. 

In-depth knowledge of complex electrical and mechanical systems including UPS systems, stand-by power, mechanical cooling systems, and energy conservation. 

Developing and managing detailed budgets and schedules from preliminary concept plans. 

Knowledge of FM Global process, standards and building codes. 

Ability to cost estimate complex projects.  

Identify cost saving opportunities throughout the project management process. 

Managing and supervising multiple design partners, contractors, and trades. 

Experience with commissioning and integrated testing of complex systems and processes 

Developing, reviewing, implementing, and enforcing Methods of Procedures (MOPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all critical work activities. 

Conducting design and construction meetings with external professionals, internal Sabey employees, and external Sabey customers. 

Collaborate with both external professionals and Sabey personnel. 

Managing bid processes, negotiating change orders, and processing applications for payments. 

Coordinate work between Sabey’s tenants and Sabey’s operation’s teams. 

Ensuring a safe work environment at all times.

Essential Functions

Ability to perform routine site visits and inspect, evaluate, and navigate construction sites safely and efficiently 

Ability to remain stationary for extended periods of time  

Ability to work independently with minimal instruction 

Ability to interact with all levels of Sabey employees and business partners – must be able to build and maintain strong professional relationships 

Interface with technology and operate a computer   

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent work experience required  

Minimum 4 years of MEP project management experience required 

Understanding of construction project plans and specifications required 

Experience in the implementation of building infrastructure with mission critical or data center experience preferred 

Proficiency in construction management/scheduling software and thorough knowledge of computer software applications preferred 

Proficiency with Microsoft Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc. 

Strong understanding of MEP systems and integrated commissioning processes. 

Salary Range: $105,262 - $163,156 depending on experience. Offering relocation assistance.
