Summary: Meta Reality Labs (MRL) focuses on connecting people through Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR). The compute performance and power efficiency requirements of these products require custom silicon. The RL Silicon team is driving the state-of-the-art forward with breakthroughs in computer vision, machine learning, mixed reality, graphics, displays, sensors, and new ways to map the human body. We believe the only way to achieve our goals is to look at the entire stack, from transistors, through architecture, to firmware and algorithms. The RL Silicon End-to-End (E2E) team is seeking a Silicon Test Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in maintaining and debugging pre-silicon hardware systems, driving the advancement of Silicon design. The ideal candidate will work with universal test frameworks to gather metrics and solve system design and hardware issues with pre-silicon FPGA platforms. The candidate will also work with post-silicon testing frameworks to set up and maintain continuous integration hardware setups and perform diagnostic and failure analysis on custom silicon validation boards. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining operation of RL Silicon’s labs and infrastructure across all sites, and manage priorities and resources across a portfolio of short/mid/long-term lab projects. This position requires experience working with cross functional engineering teams to manage daily lab operations, ensuring compliance with Meta’s lab safety and security guidelines while facilitating efficient development and testing environments.Required Skills: Silicon Test Engineer Responsibilities:

Collaborating with various teams to understand requirements and ensure efficient programming and deployment of next-gen ASICs.

Managing and provisioning lab facilities, designing and developing hardware for pre-silicon prototyping and post-silicon validation, and supporting product engineering teams on platform integration and validation.

Interface between Silicon SoC, SoC vendors, and various validation teams to bridge gaps and ensure seamless development and validation processes.

Identifying suitable micro-benchmarks for objective architectural tradeoffs and setting performance KPIs.

Authoring and publishing architectural specifications aligned with microarchitecture teams and overall product goals.

Conducting thorough analysis of ASIC resources utilization for efficient hardware usage meeting performance targets.

Developing benchmarks and tools to prove product performance and aid production software development.

Conducting performance studies, creating reports and visualizations, and establishing data analysis tools to effectively communicate insights to stakeholders.

Plan and execute lab projects including lab expansion, rack-scale system installation, equipment planning/procurement/setup/inventory/maintenance/calibration/SW update/license & renewal, and lab network/security/IT interface, etc.

Testing and maintaining hardware for pre-silicon modeling validation.

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:

Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.

3+ years of experience in silicon/EE/HW lab setup, management, and maintenance.

Experience with lab PO process from quotation, purchase, payment, to delivery.

Hands-on experience operating multimeter, oscilloscope, power supply, and other common benchtop equipment.

Experience with consumer hardware teardown, solder, and rework.

Python scripting experience for writing and maintaining system level tests.

Experience with testing frameworks and metrics.

Experience with configuring and deploying servers: Linux and x86 machines.

Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering related field or equivalent experience.

Hands-on experience with silicon chip bring-up and validation process.

Scripting skills with one or more languages for equipment automation and data processing.

Familiarity with high speed IO bring-ups, FPGA systems, and prototypes.

In depth experience with Synopsys HAPS Systems: Setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.

Experience designing and maintaining hardware server infrastructure to support silicon development and test.

Experience working in an agile environment, changing roadmaps and being capable to adapt project plans based on changes.
