Caribbean Solar Company (CSC) is seeking a self-motivated, independent, and responsible Solar and Powerwall Installer to join our growing team. This is a very unique full-time opportunity to work with a 12-year-old established, reputable, and growing company in the US Virgin Islands while advancing your career in the solar/energy storage industry.
CSC is a full service solar photovoltaic sales and installation company, and a certified Tesla Installer for energy storage solutions. We offer grid-tied, battery backup and off grid solutions to customers in the US Virgin Islands. CSC has a solid reputation for high quality installations and excellent customer experience.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in solar and Tesla Powerwall installations, passionate about renewable energy and green technology. They will cultivate a positive work environment, be a part of an efficient team and apply critical thinking to overcome obstacles.
Responsibilities:
-Roof work including but not limited to system layout, mounting of attachments, rails, grounding, running conduit, pulling wire and terminating, installing solar panels
-Groundwork layout and install electrical panels, Tesla Gateway, Powerwalls, intercept electrical main feeders, plan and install solar conduit
-Installation of monitoring equipment, including programming and troubleshooting
-Installation of supplementary system components including surge protectors and lightning arrestors
-Provide service to installed solar and energy backup systems
-Connect, test, commission and troubleshoot system components
-Work with office management to track inventory and update job progress
-Troubleshoot solar & battery issues, process RMA’s, work directly with manufacturers
-Maintain job site, truck and warehouse cleanliness
-General ability to think outside the box and problem solve unique situations
-Interact with homeowners/customers from diverse backgrounds in a respectful and helpful manner
Experience Required:
-Minimum 1 year experience working in the solar industry
-Experience managing projects and installation from design through project completion
-Experience in both residential and commercial installs
-Able to complete electrical work by reading and following a set of project plans (electrical diagram, electrical calculations and racking plan)
-Experience with DC and AC wiring
-Experience commissioning PV systems and Powerwalls, troubleshooting and maintaining optimal performance through monitoring
-Familiar with general construction
-Verifiable professional references
