THE POSITIONAre you looking for an excellent opportunity to begin a career with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania? Consider joining the Department of Human Services (DHS) at the Chester County Assistance Office (CAO) and help Pennsylvania's citizens stay warm during the winter season. This is a non-permanent full-time seasonal position with the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) program. Seasonal employment runs from approximately October to April but employment may begin as early as September and last until June. Apply today and join our team of dedicated professionals. DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs an Energy Assistance Worker, you will process initial benefit applications as well as CRISIS applications for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). This is a full-time, seasonal position that typically runs for 6-8 months during the fall and winter seasons to assist clients with the process of applying for heating assistance. After receiving on-the-job training, you will perform various duties such as interviewing clients, acting as a liaison with heating vendors, and reviewing as well as completing applications received in order to recommend approval or disapproval of benefits consistent with Federal and State Regulations. The majority of this job is completion work through data entry. Work assignments are limited in scope and performed under close supervision of an Income Maintenance Casework Supervisor who reviews work for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to the program regulations.Interested in learning more? Seasonal full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week

Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

Travel and overtime as needed. This may change based on operational need.

WORK CONDITIONS: Assigned duties are performed in a controlled office environment. In counties with District Offices, employees may be reassigned to different work sites due to operational needs. Reassignments will be made in compliance with contract language.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of experience in general office work which included interviewing the public; or

Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
