The Root Biology lab in the Plant Science Department at The Pennsylvania State University is hiring a part-time lab assistant (12 hours per week, no greater than 24 hours, regular but flexible scheduling) to help with work in the greenhouses and labs.Work includes:Physiology data collection on plantsAnalysis and organization on datasetsForward genetic studies on signal transduction pathways with implications in plant domestication/evolution and global food securityOrganizing and inventorying seed stocksOther general tasksAt times, work can be physically demanding (lifting up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation). The lab works with various crop and model species, including maize, barley, beans, and Arabidopsis.Candidates should submit a CV and cover letter.
