Position Summary
The Program Coordinator coordinates educational programs such as our Critical Conversation Series, Annual Officers Training, Council Officer & President Retreats and Emerging Leader Retreat, community service events, and community-building activities with representatives of chapters and governing bodies. Develops materials on departmental/university policies and procedures for fraternities and sororities. Supervises FSL Student Activities student worker in the execution of all assigned duties and responsibilities. Oversees the Accreditation Program, focused on Chapter Excellence. In connection with the missions of the Division of Student Affairs and Temple University, the Program Coordinator creates collaborative relationships within the university community to advance the fraternity and sorority community development. Plans, implements, and evaluates aspects of all major departmental activities and programs such as Welcome Week, an annual spring event, and the Service Immersion Program. Performs other duties as assigned.Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree required. At least one (1) year of professional experience or assistantship in fraternity and sorority life.
Experience advising students, advising organizations and working with diverse populations.
Experience supervising student staff or student volunteers.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Preferred
Master's degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education, Counseling or related field, from a regionally accredited institution.
Experience working with culturally-based fraternities and sororities and National Pan-Hellenic Council chapters
Experience with large formal Panhellenic and Interfraternity Council recruitment processes
Experience in assessment, research, and program evaluation
Experience with CampusLabs products such as Engage and Baseline.
Experience with Canvas softwareRequired Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of policies and procedures, and national trends related to the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC), National Pan-Hellenic Council, Inc. (NPHC), National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO), National APIDA Panhellenic Association (NAPA), and National Multicultural Greek Council (NMGC).
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suites.
Ability to budget, coordinate events, develop programs and work with different types of students.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.
Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts, and collaborate with staff.
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
