DescriptionSUMMARY:

This is a grant-funded position.

The psychology department at the Temple University is seeking a part-time Program Evaluation and Refinement Program Coordinator to provide support for two NIH-grant funded programs aiming to prepare undergraduates from underrepresented groups for neuroscience graduate study through mentored research, academic, and professional activities.

Assists with the evaluation and development of these undergraduate programs. Meets with stakeholders at Temple and partner institutions to develop and implement program evaluation matrices. Creates a graphical representation of the data on programmatic outcomes.Organizes meetings with external Steering committees to gain additional program evaluation insight. Prepares slides to present programmatic outcomes to the steering committee. Assists in grant writing for renewing funding for current programs and creating further opportunities aligned with current initiatives. Develop and implement recruitment plans to aid in the growth of the current programs. Support MiNDS recruitment and admissions, including maintaining recruitment lists, generating printed materials and correspondence, updating the program website, and organizing application materials. Duties include securing meeting space, ordering and setting up refreshments, travel arrangements, transportation, accommodations, reimbursements, etc., as appropriate. Assist in preparing annual reports, including compiling and organizing student outcome data. Perform other duties as required or assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

A practical and nuanced understanding of the challenges and experiences of underrepresented minority students in the sciences and higher education.

Interest in advocating for the interest of minority students

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with diverse populations of constituents both internal and external to the department.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience presenting to groups and workshops

Experience with program promotion and social media management

Ability to strategize, course correct, and problem solve using sound judgement

Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines and manage time effectively

Ability to gather, analyze and report on program data and outcomes

Ability to work some evenings and weekends

Experience in higher education

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Experience in grant writing

Experience with data presentation and analysis
