THE POSITION

The Business Applications Division, within the Public School Employees' Retirement System (PSERS), is seeking an experienced professional to serve as an Information Technologist Generalist Administrator 1. This position is responsible for the management and direction of all activities within the Business Applications Division, which is comprised of the Applications Access and Operations section (AAOS), Application Development and Maintenance section (ADMS), the Electronic Document Management Section (EDMS). This division provides consultative, technical, and operational support in the planning, design, specification, configuration, development, testing, implementation, operation, maintenance, administration, and troubleshooting of PSERS business applications. The largest of these is PSERS' pension administration system, V3, which is a mission critical system used by PSERS staff members, 700+ public school employers, and 450,000+ public school employee retirement system members to execute PSERS' primary functions, including annuitant payroll, benefit calculation, member account administration, and Health Options program. Work in this position is of a highly complex nature requiring strong managerial and project management skills. Other duties include assistance to the IT Director with the development and enforcement of policy decisions in the Bureau of Information Technology.You will have the opportunity to independently interact with other other PSERS entities, PSERS contracted vendors, and other external entities, determine operational changes and deployment schedules in keeping with PSERS overall business requirements and project management methodologies, as well as submit major application system changes through the BIT Director for agency Governance review and approval.Interested in learning more? Full-time employment

Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as an Information Technology Generalist Administrator 1, Senior Applications Developer, Database Administrator 1, Data Administrator 1, Information Security Specialist 2, or Network Administrator 1; or

Six years of information technology experience that includes three years of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, database maintenance or database development, data analysis and data model development, administration of information technology security programs, or other information technology support/administration services; or

Four years of information technology experience that includes three years of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site d velopment or web site design, database maintenance or database development, data analysis and data model development, administration of information technology security programs, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or

Two years of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, database maintenance or database development, data analysis and data model development, administration of information technology security programs, or other information technology support/administration services, and a bachelor's degree in any information technology field; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.
