THE POSITION

The Bureau of Motor Vehicles is looking for detailed and organized candidate to fill a Clerical Assistant 2 position. In this position you will provide the Division a support system concerning the examination and data entry of documents with a determination that customers have current and proper insurance documents to operate their motor vehicle. As a Clerical Assistant 2 you will be responsible for the examination and data entry of financial responsibility information. You will determine the proper issuance of a suspension, rescinding records, reinstatements, restorations, citations, renewals, and process complied records of a motorist's vehicle registration. Using the documentation provided, you will determine if an application should be rejected or processed and evaluate content to select proper processing or error response codes. You will determine the denial or issuance of registration plates and cards, and will be responsible for opening, tracking, and processing Certified mail received in the Financial Responsibility Section.Additional duties include being responsible for completing phone verification to insurance agents and departments to obtain information regarding the customer Financial Responsibility, responsible for requesting documentation from the insurance company regarding lapse in insurance coverage, and correctly process work from the documentation that was obtained.Interested in learning more? Work hours are either:

8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 1-hour lunch.

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Please note, selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $34,621.00.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or

Graduation from high school; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.
