We are recruiting an Employment Consultant to join our team and help create enriching social and work experiences for adults with diverse abilities in our communities.

As an Employment Consultant, you will be crucial in connecting adults with diverse abilities to find meaningful employment opportunities. This position involves working closely with clients to assess their skills, interests, and goals and then collaborating with employers to match suitable candidates to job openings. The ideal candidate will be passionate about workforce development, possess excellent communication skills, and have a strong commitment to helping individuals achieve their career aspirations. You will contribute to creating a supportive and welcoming community for those we serve.

Requirements

Approach businesses and learn about their operations, take tours, and look for opportunities to employ individuals

with diverse abilities (with or without accommodations under ADA).

Assist individuals with job preparation activities such as resumes, cover letters, mock interviews, and utilizing

public transportation.

Provide Discovery/Career Exploration services in the community and develop a vocational profile that provides

employment-related information essential to developing the individual’s career goals.

Ensure all required documentation is complete, timely, accurate, and representative of a professional organization.

Follow licensing regulations, agency policies, and practices and ensure the protection of individual rights and safety.

Manage a caseload of approximately 15-20 individuals and write and submit timely progress reports.

Communicate verbally and in writing with program managers, job developers, support staff, employers, funding

sources, and other advocates to ensure a clear understanding of worker’s progress and continued support, as needed.

Analyze job tasks and the potential for work modifications and match individuals to appropriate job assignments.

Use creative “outside the box” strategies to help supported individuals achieve successful outcomes. Ensure the

health and safety of workers.

Experience Desired for This Position:

Associate degree in special education, psychology, or a related field or four years' experience working with those

with diverse abilities or in a related field.

Daily travel is required throughout the program region.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and safe driving record and have a reliable, insurable means of transportation.

Must be willing to work flexible hours to integrate participants into new work environments.

Must be able to assist in lifting, repositioning, or transferring individuals using wheelchairs.

Must be willing to provide support with activities of daily living as needed.

Must occasionally lift 50 pounds.

It may be required to bend and stoop at various work sites.

Must pass a DHS background check.

Applicants must be willing to undergo pre-employment drug testing. (THC Excluded)
