A Work Futures Job Coach plays a crucial role in assisting individuals with disabilities to find and maintain meaningful employment. The job coach works closely with job seekers and employers to ensure a successful integration into the workforce. Job Coaches provide guidance, support, and training to individuals with disabilities to help them secure and maintain employment. You will work collaboratively with clients, employers, and other support professionals to facilitate successful job placements and ensure the ongoing success of individuals in the workplace.

Requirements

Provide education and technical assistance to prospective employers on the benefits of employing workers with

disabilities and the ADA accommodations.

Analyze job tasks, break them down into constituent parts, and utilize optimal job training to ensure mastery.

Negotiate work modifications and provide ongoing individual support and encouragement to individuals.

Observe the work site culture and assist the worker in building a social bond with supervisors and coworkers that

results in “natural support.”

Provide case management of those assigned. Communicate verbally and in writing, as necessary, with program

managers, job developers, support staff, employers, funding sources, and other advocates to ensure a clear

understanding of each person's progress and need for continued support.

Ensure all required documentation is complete, timely, accurate, and representative of a professional organization.

Follow licensing regulations, agency policies, and practices and protect individual rights and safety.

Assist individuals with job preparation activities such as resumes, cover letters, mock interviews, and mobility

training.

Experience Desired for This Position:

High school diploma or equivalent.

One (1) year of experience instructing/supervising individuals with developmental disabilities.

Demonstrated ability in written and verbal communication.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and safe driving record and have a reliable, insurable means of transportation.

Must pass a DHS background check.

Applicants must be willing to undergo pre-employment drug testing. (THC Excluded)

Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
