Location: NE Portland (97212)
Employment Type: Part-time (30 hours/week)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 9 AM – 3 PM
Start Date: September 1
Compensation: $28–$32/hour, depending on experience
Requirements: Non-smoker, fragrance-free, has reliable transportation, background check
About Our Family:
We’re a growing family of four living in NE Portland, with a 6-year-old, a 3-year-old, and a baby due in early fall. We’re looking for a dependable, warm, highly organized family assistant and house manager to be a second set of hands in our daily life. We value kindness, initiative, and quiet confidence—someone who brings calm energy into our home, takes pride in their work, and can anticipate needs before they arise.
The Ideal Candidate:
You’re thoughtful, reliable, and proactive. You take initiative, communicate clearly, enjoy creating order, and find satisfaction in helping a household run smoothly. You can follow detailed instructions but are equally comfortable figuring things out on your own. You’re calm under pressure, adaptable with kids, and enjoy being around families—even if the focus of this role is primarily on the home, not childcare.
Key Responsibilities:
Household Management & Organization
Keep the home tidy and organized—closets, toys, pantry, fridge, storage bins, etc.
Maintain systems for laundry, linens, and clothing swaps (seasonal or size-based)
Reset rooms, manage supplies, oversee and prep for cleaning services
Pack/unpack family items for travel, day trips, or seasonal transitions
Coordinate donations, help with home projects and special tasks
Tackle occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards, etc.)
Organize special projects: toy storage, seasonal decorations, gear rotation
Meal Prep & Grocery Support
Grocery shopping and pantry restocking (Costco, Target, Amazon, etc.)
Prep ingredients for family meals (chopping, organizing), with the potential to occasionally assemble or cook simple, Paleo-friendly meals—bonus points for previous culinary experience or training
Clean up kitchen after prep; maintain fridge and kitchen organization
Errands & Admin Support
Run errands: dry cleaning, returns, gift wrapping, groceries
Handle local drop-offs and pickups (e.g., packages, donations, dog daycare)
Support with calendar coordination and basic planning when needed
Laundry & Linen Care
Manage laundry systems: wash, fold, put away clothing, towels, bedding
Steam or iron outfits for the week as needed
Keep laundry room clean and stocked
Vehicle Management
Schedule and oversee maintenance, oil changes, and inspections
Ensure vehicles are fueled, cleaned, and organized
Light Child Assistance
Provide 6–10 hours of light childcare weekly
Engage in gentle supervision or play during transitions or errands
Assist with preparing items for school (backpacks, snacks, outfits)
