Position Title: Healthcare Laboratory Manager Campus: Portland City, State: Portland ME Department: School of Nursing - PCON Bargaining Unit: UMPSA Salary Band/Wage Band: SECCP Work Schedule: Day shift Statement of Job: The University of Southern Maine is seeking applicants for a Healthcare Laboratory Manager.The Healthcare Laboratory Manager provides operational support for all College of Science, Technology and Health simulation facilities across the three USM campuses in a complex state of the art learning, teaching, and research environment. The Lab Manager collaborates with USM faculty with sensitivity to the needs of the School of Nursing and works directly with the Director of Healthcare Simulation regarding all Simulation and IPE laboratory operations. The Lab Manager ensures a safe and efficient environment through the effective implementation of protocols, policies and procedures, and coordinates with faculty and staff to support simulation and lab activities. The College of Science, Technology, and Health includes a dynamic School of Nursing, thirteen academic departments, and an amazing Army ROTC program, as well as being home to the Southworth Planetarium. From all these programs, the College houses a variety of undergraduate degrees, graduate degrees, minors, and certificates.This is a full-time position with a starting annual salary of $50,000. This position will be based primarily on the Portland Campus. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent 4 years of related experience.

Able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in computer and technical equipment abilities to maintain and troubleshoot all AV and simulator software and hardware.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to coordinate, organize, plan and problem solve multiple tasks simultaneously.

Ability to lift and move lab equipment, including mannequins.
