DescriptionThe Manager Business/Financial Services works closely with department managers/directors to develop, implement, and evaluate business processes and operational initiative/projects to ensure an effective use of financial resources that are consistent within the Surgical Services departments. Accountable for planning, organizing and directing Surgical Services business functions including billing, charge master maintenance, pricing, coding and reimbursement and cost accounting systems for Providence Portland Medical Center. Provides day-to-day supervision to the surgery business unit and supports department managers within Surgical Services. Responsibilities include: Develop, analyze, and monitor budgets and variances; monitor capital allocations; conduct cost benefit analysis, review and approve financial transactions; act as a resource to provide information on financial reports and budget preparation. Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Health Administration, or other related field. Or equivalent educ/experience.

5 years Experience working in surgical services.

5 years Supervisory/management experience.

3 years Operational performance improvement and/or project management experience.

3 years Financial management experience or graduate level finance course training.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Health Administration, or other related field.

upon hire: Clinical Coding Specialist (AHIMA).

Experience in LEAN, Cap and Workout; or certification / completion within 2 years from hire.
