We are looking for a motivated individual who wants to be actively involved in the growth of this small accounting firm. As an Accounting Assistant, you will be working on all aspects of preparing financial reports for our clients, federal and state tax filings, and payroll. Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
Download Client data required for monthly processing
Enter client transactions into accounting software
Assist with client payroll processing questions
Assist with various tax filings (WA Department of Revenue – B&O/Sales & Use Tax, Personal Property, 1099's)
Maintain client files and records and document all processing steps for each client
Research as required to answer client questions
Supports owner and staff with special projects and tasks as needed
Required Qualifications
Education and Certification:
Associates degree in Accounting preferred
Experience:
Minimum of two years accounting experience, including:
Bookkeeping experience is a plus
Federal payroll tax filings (Forms 940, 941, W-2, W-3) is a plus
WA/OR Department of Revenue, WA Employment Security, WA Labor and Industries filings is a plus
Federal income tax return preparation is a plus
Position Level Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of accounting concepts, principles and practices is a plus
Knowledge of financial reporting is a plus
Knowledge of local, state and federal laws regarding finances and taxation is a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and 10-key
Knowledge of IRS rules and regulations and experience in tax return preparation is a plus
