Description Do you have the ability to read and analyze financial reports and a strong understanding of US tax regulations? Robert Half is seeking Staff Accountants in the Eugene area to round out the financial team for our clients. Staff Accountants prepare and analyze a company’s financial records. The Staff Accountant will compile financial statements, review data, and ensure financial compliance. Staff Accountants are responsible for executing a variety of financial procedures, including month-end and year-end closings, accounts payable and receivable, tax returns, bank reconciliations, general ledger entries, forecasting and budgeting. Staff Accountants also analyze corporate financial operations to ensure the business is running efficiently.Job Duties:
Perform daily accounting tasks, including recording financial transactions, updating ledgers, and reconciling accounts.
Prepare and maintain accurate and timely financial records, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoice verification, payment processing, and collections.
Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow to ensure proper fund management.
Prepare and submit various tax forms, such as sales tax and payroll tax filings, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data and provide insights for informed decision-making.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, monitoring variances and identifying areas of concern.
Support the preparation of audit documentation and liaise with external auditors during financial audits.
Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and ensure the company's adherence to relevant guidelines.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting best practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial reporting.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping and analysis.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaboration with team members.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a proactive and adaptable attitude.
Experience with accounting software and ERP systems; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
Prior experience in a similar accounting role or internship is preferred.
