The Warehouse Specialist (HAZMAT) (SSA) is responsible for a variety of warehousing duties included, but not limited to, verifying materials or merchandise against receiving documents; receives, stores, stacks, or palletizes materials, and removes material from storage and prepares it for shipping. ResponsibilitiesThis position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company. MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

Verifies material and merchandise against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.

Routes material and equipment to prescribed storage locations.

Properly stores, stacks or palletizes materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.

Rearranges as necessary and takes inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage.

Removes material from storage and prepares it for shipment.

Establishes and maintains stock records and other documents such as inventory, material control, accounting and supply reports.

Assists in taking inventories through physical count and records item count on inventory documents.

May operate hand or power trucks in performance of warehousing duties.

Performs other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.

Job duties and responsibilities may change due to contractual requirements.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Work will typically be in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.

Work may be conducted in an outside environment with exposer to high and low temperatures and humidity.

Rarely will an employee be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

Standing at times for long periods and walking short distances will be performed daily.

Activities will also revolve around extended periods of sitting and communicating via email and telephone.

Visual acuity necessary for computer work and data manipulation.

Must wear Personal Protection Equipment such as, face mask (covering nose and mouth), steel or composite toe safety shoes, eye, ear, head, and hand wear.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. with no assistance and a minimum of 5 lbs.

QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Must process a Forklift Operator License

Must have a valid State Driver’s License with no restrictions.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).

Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a U.S. Passport.

Must be able to maintain driving privileges aboard the Fort Liberty Installation.

EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge of warehousing storage layouts, basic warehousing functions.

Knowledge and understanding of Occupational Safety & Health Association (OSHA) Hazardous Material Regulations

Warehouse operations experience preferred.

Experience working with or around hazardous materials preferred.

Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project and SharePoint preferred.

(1) year of GCSS-Army and regulatory supply systems preferred.

Forklift Operator experience preferred.

SKILLS:

Able to work independently with minimal supervision

Ability to work in a team-based, highly collaborative environment.

Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines.

Organizational skills, ability to prioritize, perform with a high degree of accuracy.
