Summary About the Position: You will serve as a Logisitics Management Specialist and provide materiel management supply/support, force modernization, and oversee all logistics matters for assigned systems and related support equipment; AND support various commands within the organization. This position is located at U.S. Army Forces Command in Fort Liberty, North Carolina. Responsibilities Oversees directives, policies, procedures, and programs affecting the acquisition, materiel development, fielding, distribution, redistribution, supply and maintenance support, readiness and disposition of major systems and support equipment. Manages, monitors, and coordinates fielding and deployment of new systems ensuring adequacy of user/support personnel and equipment. Coordinates and conducts new equipment training and ensures facilities are conducive to new equipment. Ensures proper transition of support from Materiel Developer (MATDEV) to the Standard Army Maintenance System. Analyzes and evaluates materiel fielding plans, "get well plans," studies, technical reports, maintenance and supply data, contractor's studies, and material developed by DOD activities, other government agencies and private industry. Represents the command at meetings and conferences within FORSCOM and at higher, lateral, and subordinate commands. Ensuring system logistical support is in place during the "Life Cycle' of the system using all or a combination of various systems; AND identifies shortages, deficiencies, problems and capabilities by interacting with users. Monitors system and item asset inventory; resolving FORSCOM excess and shortage shortfalls by redistributing and distributing assets throughout FORSCOM. Provides technical advice, guidance and assistance on transportation and traffic management aspects of the movement of Army units in support of contingency plans, joint maneuvers, exercises and other operational commitments. Current Department of Army Civilian Employees In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes performing materiel management supply/support, force modernization, and overseeing all logistics matters for assigned systems and related support equipment; AND overseeing logistics plans and programs to include the fielding and deployment of new systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral Communication Organizational Awareness Planning and Evaluating Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
