We are hiring for a Special Order Engineer:The primary purpose of this position is to provide subject matter expert engineering support for the special-order quoting, design and fabrication processes. This role will serve to ensure that the quoting, costing, engineering and operations resources meet established metrics for product cost, scheduling and delivery to the customer. Description:
Receive customer orders and prepare the quotes for the order
use applications/tools to determine cost & schedule for the order
For new designs/changes - collaborate with suppliers, Designers, supply chain to obtain quotes and estimates to be used for Order quoting
Provide requirements to them, review the final output, review and approve the ECN’s, lead review meetings and ensure timelines are met
Work with manufacturing throughout the product build – ensure schedule, quality and drive resolution for any build issues or post sales customer issues.
Primary Job Responsibilities: Provide special-order engineering process ownership Lead special-order teams consisting of engineering, design, supply chain, scheduling, quality and manufacturing Ensure quoting, costing, quality and delivery metrics are met and reporting these metrics to leadership on a regular basis Ensure that workflows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations. Develop corrective actions, solutions, and improvements to processes Review codes, specifications, and processes required to comply with customer special orders Provide advanced design with drafting standards and procedures using CREO4 Responsible for bill of material (BOM) structure and databases Drive change management and Engineering Change Requests & Engineering Change Notices using PDM Windchill Responsible for the quality and accuracy of work and performance in meeting hardline schedule deliverablesSkills:quoting, costing, special order, engineering to order, ETO, windchill, BOM, design reviewTop Skills Details:quoting, costing, special orderAdditional Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Interdisciplinary engineering preferred with 3+ years of experience 3+ years of experience in a commercial production environment or similar role Experience with top level assemblies and large assembly management Project leadership experience and teamwork skills Advanced knowledge and experience of the discipline and mechanical design role Experience with design and manufacturing processes Working knowledge of manufacturing fabrication and assembly methodsExperience Level:Intermediate LevelAbout Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
