The following other locations will be considered, Peoria, IL, Irving or Seguin, TX and Lafayette, IN. In this role, you will support Hyperscale data canter customers working and owning the supplier third party commercial and quality relationships for Caterpillar, Inc.Focus Areas: Generator set packaging, for Sound Attenuated Enclosures, for Hyper scaler customers requiring Datacenter back up power; Prime diesel and Gas generator packaging for regional Datacenters and prime power applications.About EPDCaterpillar's Electric Power Division (EPD) offers integrated solutions, parts, and services to meet the needs of our various commercial and industrial electric power customers. The management of packaging suppliers (Genset packaging for MW+ diesel and gas generator sets) for Caterpillar in the Americas. Key responsibilities being Supplier management achieving, Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development and Cost targets “QCLDM,” of this growing spend category.

Spend profile growing to $500m/annum.

Accountable for driving the adoption of a major new business development.

Developing and managing external Packaging Solutions with Suppliers on a regional basis.

Integration of the network into the Global S&OP.

Responsible for the leadership of a team of Commercial Engineers and Project management/Supplier development engineers, based across a region.

The team you will manage are responsible for:

Owning the Commercial relationship with the Suppliers across a region

Supplier Selection.

Commercial and Contract development & maintenance.

Integration with existing Caterpillar Quality, Commercial and Purchasing practices.

Developing competitive solutions to support Sales and Customer teams.

Request for Quote and supplier commercial performance.

Developing and owning the Supplier input on the concept design through to Sales quotation.

Ensuring a seamless concept and quotation process for the end Customer, working with Supplier and Caterpillar teams.

Understanding and deployment of Caterpillar design standards and supplier capability.

Aiding the development of standard processes and tools with peers and the network, focused on Commercial solutions. Including, but not limited to:

Standardization of Engineering Designs.

Ordering processes.

Distribution management.

On site reviews with Suppliers and end customers.

Adoption of APQP elements across a set of suppliers.

Supplier Project Management and development

Designs and develops supplier agreements and procurement policies with standard terms and conditions.

Supervises the execution of all stages of the category management process.

Procurement Function - Level Extensive Experience : Knowledge of responsibilities, accountabilities, and organization of procurement function; ability to perform tasks and activities of the procurement functions or department.

Provides appropriate solutions to complex procurement problems.

Improves processes to maximize procurement's efficiency and effectiveness.

Builds key relationships and dependencies with other business functions and providers.

Large capital project procurement and commissioning.

Purchasing, Supplier Management or Direct/Dealer experience

Engineering experience in the Electric Power Industry

Project Management experience

Previous leadership roles in the Electric Power sector

Automotive and Aerospace leadership experience

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering/other engineering discipline or significant experience

Proficiency in English language both written and verbal is essential.

Previous 6 Sigma Greenbelt/Black Belt experience.
