We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Paralegal with expertise in immigration law, specifically catering to clients who speak spanish or English languages. Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive support to immigration attorneys in preparing and filing various immigration applications, petitions, and forms, including but not limited to:
Family-based immigration petitions
Adjustment of status applications
Naturalization applications
Employment-based immigration petitions
Visa applications
Conduct thorough client intake interviews, gathering necessary information and documentation for immigration cases.
Assist clients in completing immigration forms accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Prepare and maintain case files, organizing documents, correspondence, and evidence.
Communicate effectively with clients, government agencies, and other relevant parties in spanish, english languages as necessary.
Coordinate with interpreters and translators when needed to facilitate communication between clients and attorneys.
Conduct legal research on immigration laws, policies, and procedures.
Stay updated on changes in immigration laws and policies that may impact clients.
Assist in scheduling appointments, hearings, and interviews with government agencies and courts.
Provide administrative support, including drafting correspondence, managing calendars, and maintaining client databases.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
Paralegal certificate or relevant work experience in immigration law preferred.
Fluency in English and spanish, languages (verbal and written) is required.
Knowledge of immigration laws, procedures, and forms.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse populations.
Previous experience working in a law firm or legal environment is a plus.
