Gage and Tollner is seeking an experienced FULL TIME pastry cook to join our team. Job requirements include:
-Ability to work both plating and production shifts confidently
-Some experience in a high volume restaurant
-Ability to complete a daily pastry production list independently and in a timely manner
-Ability to work with a sense of urgency and work under pressure
-Ability to plate desserts precisely, neatly and with consistency
-Ability to work late nights and weekends
-Ability to come mentally and physically prepared for work on time, every shift
Daily tasks include:
-Daily production of the menu which includes breads, batters, doughs, ice creams, sorbets, and various weekend pastries.
-Setting up the pastry plating station swiftly, and in an organized manner
-Plating breads and desserts, and expediting tickets, for an 8 hour shift
-Keeping the station fully stocked throughout service
-Completing a nightly, thorough inventory of the station, adding any necessary tasks to the next day’s production list
-Breaking down the station thoroughly at the end of the night and deep cleaning it for the next day
-Communicating with both front and back of house management respectfully throughout the shift
-Actively support and communicate with the kitchen team
-Problem solving in the moment

-Flexibility regarding schedules including availability on nights and weekends as needed
-Ability to stand on your feet for extended periods of time, potentially for the entire 8+ hour shift
-Ability to lift at least 40 pounds
