Gage and Tollner is seeking an experienced FULL TIME pastry cook to join our team both for possible daytime production
& nighttime service. We are a busy restaurant that takes pride in our people & our food. We seek people who are thoughtful, want to grow & genuinely care about what they do. Job requirements include:
-Ability to work both plating and production shifts confidently
-Some experience in a high volume restaurant
-Ability to complete a daily pastry production list independently and in a timely manner
-Ability to work with a sense of urgency and work under pressure
-Ability to plate desserts precisely, neatly and with consistency
-Ability to come mentally and physically prepared for work on time, every shift
-Ability to work well with others, ask questions
Daily tasks include:
-Daily production of the menu which includes breads, batters, doughs, ice creams, sorbets, and various weekend pastries
-Ability to follow a recipe
-Setting up the pastry plating station swiftly, and in an organized manner
-Plating breads and desserts, and expediting tickets, for an 8 hour shift
-Communicating with both front and back of house management respectfully throughout the shift
-Problem solving in the moment
In addition to these general expectations of Pastry Cook, the position requires:
-Flexibility regarding schedules including availability on nights and weekends as needed
-Ability to stand on your feet for extended periods of time, potentially for the entire 8+ hour shift
-Ability to lift at least 40 pounds
