The team is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gifts from alumni, parents, and friends of the university to support its academic, research, and outreach mission. The team is made up of dedicated professionals who bring a wide range of skills and experience to their work, and who are passionate about the impact of philanthropy on the university and its students, faculty, and staff.Learn more about AA&D here: The OpportunityWe are seeking to fill two Administrative Assistant III positions.The administrative assistant aids 4-6 University Major Gift Officers (MGOs) in their work managing individual donors and potential donors with the capacity to give at the major gift level ($250K+).Responsibilities:Support MGO data coordination and reporting.Handle presidential acknowledgements for gifts.Assist in the work-plan process for MGOs.Provide occasional event logistics support.Assist with travel arrangements.Maintain awareness of and adhere to division procedures and policies.Contribute to administrative projects benefiting the University Major Gifts team.Demonstrate above-average knowledge of technical programs.We value diversity and inclusiveness, and every member of our community is expected to foster a culture of belonging and a psychologically healthy work environment by communicating across differences, being cooperative, collaborative, open, and welcoming. This is a hybrid position, with a minimum of 2-3 days per week worked in the Seneca Place office in downtown Ithaca. During an initial orientation period of up to three months from the date of hire, the selected employee will be expected to work a minimum of 3 days in the office, with the remaining days worked remotely. Following the orientation period, the employee will be able to choose from two options:Work 3 or more days per week in the Seneca Place office in a dedicated work space, with the remaining 2 days or less worked at a location of employee's choosing within the United States.Work 2 days per week in the Seneca Place office using shared/hoteling space, and 3 days at a location of employee's choosing within the United States.Cornell provides all employees with free mass transit on campus and locally through TCAT (value $450).
