Program Assistant, Alumni Affairs and Development ILRAPPLYCornell University, a nationally ranked Ivy League institution, is looking for a Program Assistant to join the Alumni Affairs & Development division in the appealing city of Ithaca, NY.The Program Assistant reports to the Assistant Dean, Alumni Affairs and Development for the Cornell Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy, and provides program support for the Brooks School Alumni Affairs and Development team. This role focuses on supporting the fundraising and engagement activity of the team and managing the stewardship processes that recognize gifts to the Brooks School. Responsibilities include:Reporting and gift processing: regular report distribution to Brooks programs and institutes. Field gift questions from AAD partners including complex inquiries. Create new gift accounts as needed.Stewardship support: manage weekly gift acknowledgment process in conjunction with University Donor Relations. Gather information for endowment reports and other high-level stewardship. Support individual stewardship in partnership with Brooks School leaders.Fundraising support: assist team by running reports and entering prospect data into the database system to reflect development team activity and contacts. Maintaining prospect files, create briefings for donor meetings, and supporting prospect correspondence.Engagement support: assist team with broad-based engagement and volunteer management, including professional degree program advisory boards.Support broad-based fundraising efforts like crowdfunding, Giving Day, phonathons, texting, and email and mail appeals.Manage student workers, including hiring, training, and supervising their efforts.Required QualificationsAssociate's degree and 4 to 6 years of relevant experience or equivalent combinationHigh standards for their work products and attention to detailStrong technology acumen, including database skillsPropensity to effectively collaborate in a high-performance environmentProactive approach and demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlinesEffective time-management skills and ability to work with multiple colleaguesProven ability to thrive in a collaborative and complex workplaceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong proficiency with Microsoft OfficeProficiency with and ability to learn new software platformsDemonstrated ability to handle confidential information and materialsPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalentKnowledge of Alumni Affairs and Development systems and processesExperience working in event planning, fundraising, program development, or related fieldKnowledge of fundraising principles and systems Familiarize yourself with Cornell's as well as the university's .
