Accounts Receivable Revenue Accountant

This job can be located at the Truckee, CA office or Minden, NV office

As a Revenue Accountant under the direction of the Assistant Controller, the position will assist with a variety of accounting duties, including but not limited to all aspects of client billing, project invoicing, and job cost accounting.

Duties and responsibilities

Compile job cost data and create T&M, Progress, and other Billings

Work with project managers & superintendents to reconcile job costs

Track payment status, including researching past due A/R and unbilled job costs

Reconcile client payments credit cards/ACH’s

Reconcile jobs at completion and produce final billings

Participate in process improvements to streamline the billing process

Invoice, audit and track our Home Management Care program

Other task or projects as requested to assist the accounting department

Posting of billing payments

Change order reconciliation

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline or combination of education and experience.

Minimum three to five years’ experience in Cost Accounting.

Strong background in A/R and A/P.

MS Office Suite (strong skills, intermediate to advanced).

Construction industry related Accounts Receivable with pre-liens, conditional & unconditional lien releases and billing (preferred).

Sage Contractor 100/Master Builder software experience a plus.

Construction loan bank draw experience a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to engage with clients regarding billing progress and reconciliation.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.

Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.

Ability to work with business concepts such as budgets, profitability and target goals are required.

Ability to define problems, risks, solutions and opportunities, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Must exhibit exceptional people skills, flawlessly manage customer expectations, must be a good listener and provide prompt responses to all requests.

Working conditions

Majority of time is spent working in an office environment. Required to attend meetings to explain financial policies. Must spend time keeping up with the field by attending seminars and professional meetings.
