Description We are in search of a meticulous and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in SAINT LOUIS, Missouri. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be tasked with ensuring our company's payroll activities are carried out efficiently and accurately. This role is crucial in the finance and accounting sector and offers a short term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Processing company payroll on a bi-weekly or monthly basis. Updating and maintaining employee records, including changes related to exemptions, insurance coverage, job titles, and department/division transfers. Ensuring all payroll processes comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements. Preparing and reviewing payroll reports for accuracy before submission. Resolving payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information from finance and HR departments. Reconciling payroll data and ensuring any discrepancies are addressed and corrected in a timely manner. Handling employee inquiries related to payroll issues or concerns. Collaborating closely with HR to align payroll activities such as benefits, deductions, etc. Staying updated with current payroll tax requirements and relevant laws associated with the processing of employee wage data. Utilizing accounting software systems such as ADP - Financial Services, Ceridian, IBM AS/400, Kronos Timekeeping System, and About Time for efficient payroll administration. Requirements Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems Experience with ADP - Financial Services is required Familiarity with Ceridian, IBM AS/400, and Kronos Timekeeping System Knowledge in 401k - RRSP Administration Experience in using About Time software Ability to manage Accounting Functions effectively Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
