Payroll Specialist

Description Robert Half is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist for a temporary to permanent position with an amazing client!Responsibilities:Payroll Processing:

Utilize UKG payroll software to accurately process payroll for all employees.

Ensure timely and accurate distribution of paychecks or direct deposits.

Verify and reconcile payroll data to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.

Employee Communication and Documentation:

Contact employees to collect and update payroll-related paperwork, including tax forms and direct deposit information.

Provide support and guidance to employees regarding payroll inquiries, deductions, and benefits.

Maintain accurate employee records and ensure confidentiality of payroll information.

Tax Filing and Compliance:

Assist in tax filing processes, including preparing and submitting payroll tax returns.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including timely reporting and payments.

Collaborate with HR and finance teams to address any payroll tax-related issues or discrepancies.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency.

Stay updated on payroll laws, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Participate in training programs to enhance payroll knowledge and skills.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing and administration.

Strong understanding of W2 payroll processes and tax regulations.

Proficiency in using UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) or similar payroll software.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with employees and resolving payroll-related inquiries.

Attention to detail and accuracy in payroll data entry and calculations.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (preferred).

Certification in payroll processing (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional, CPP) is a plus.
