Join us at MDH within our newly identified Health Equity Strategy and Innovation division as the Policy and Systems Change (PSC) Supervisor and lead our mission to create a more equitable health landscape.As the PSC Supervisor, you will be at the forefront of MDH’s Health Equity Strategy and Innovation Division, championing policy and systems change initiatives. Your expertise will guide the review, monitoring, and analysis of legislative policies, regulations, and procedures, with a keen focus on equity impact.In this dynamic role, you will:

Lead and Innovate : Drive the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies that advance our health equity goals. Collaborate with various MDH Divisions and programs to ensure our strategic priorities are met.

Empower and Guide : Supervise a dedicated team of PSC staff, providing leadership, training, and technical assistance. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Build and Transform : Promote systems thinking and lead efforts to build equity capacity within the organization. Your leadership will be instrumental in aligning the team’s efforts towards impactful change.

Shape the Future : Participate in crucial staffing decisions, including hiring, promoting, and directing staff. Manage disciplinary actions and navigate grievance processes as necessary.

Minimum QualificationsTo be considered for the Policy and Systems Change (PSC) Supervisor role, please ensure your resume clearly communicates the following qualifications:Four (4) years of experience demonstrating the following:

Proven experience in coaching, mentoring, developing, or leading staff or teams.

Hands-on experience in project management and coordination, including strategic planning and budgeting.

Experience in interpreting, communicating, and implementing policies or procedures, and responding to related policy inquiries.

Ability to research statutes, regulations, and policies relevant to Health Equity work.

Skills in tracking and interpreting legislation and policy impacts and conveying these through visual and written communications.

Experience leading new initiatives that involve collaboration with multiple partners.

Bachelor’s degree in organizational development, law, public policy, public administration, or a related field may substitute for 1 year of experience.Master’s degree in organizational development, law, public policy, public administration, or related field may substitute for 2 years of experience.Preferred Qualifications

Experience addressing social issues such as public safety, education, immigration, health, economic development, human rights, housing, and child welfare.

Educational background in organizational development, law, public policy, public administration, or a related field.

Proficiency in data analysis and research methods.

Familiarity with the Minnesota legislative and policy-making process.

Versatility in handling a range of topic areas.

Success in designing, developing, and managing policy projects.

Background in Minnesota public health, specifically working with underserved communities.

Experience in planning, leading, and facilitating meetings.
