The Downtowner Woodfire Grill, a downtown St. Paul classic is hiring an experienced restaurant manager to join our team. The Downtowner has offered a truly unique experience for our diners for over 25 years with a charming atmosphere, exquisite menu and amazing staff.

This position will have 5 set days a week, including weekends. Some flexibility is needed.

Qualifications:

- Food service management

- POS experience

- Supervising experience

- Hospitality management

- Kitchen management

- Previous experience in team management

- Strong customer service skills

- Experience in interviewing and hiring staff

- Knowledge of restaurant management practices

- Familiarity with inventory control systems

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

- Excellent communication skills

- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends

- Previous experience with Aloha or Micros POS systems

Responsibilities:

- Oversee and manage front-of-house operations, ensuring exceptional customer service and satisfaction.

- Supervise and lead a team of staff members, providing guidance and support as needed.

- Utilize strong communication skills to interact with customers, address any concerns, and ensure a positive dining experience.

- Manage inventory control to optimize stock levels and minimize waste.

- Utilize TOAST POS system efficiently to process orders and payments accurately.

- Implement and maintain high standards of food service management and kitchen management.

- Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely and quality food preparation and service.

- Utilize hospitality management skills to create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for guests.

- Handle any escalated situations with professionalism and efficiency, resolving conflicts effectively.

- Collaborate with management to implement strategies for continuous improvement in restaurant operations.

Must be willing to work weekend shifts with a set weekly schedule.
