The hours of work are generally between 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but days of work and hours may vary depending on program needs.The Behavioral Health Services team is seeking a talented, mission driven, person-centered Mental Health Professional to join our team and make a great difference in the lives of others. The Mental Health Professional position exists to provide professional mental health assessment, treatment and education for individuals with an identified mental health diagnosis or concern; individuals or patients served are currently on commitment. This position will also provide ongoing mental health psychoeducation for staff employed in the programs. In addition, the Mental Health Professional will work with multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated services, but function independently, make sound decisions, and seek direction from the Behavioral Health Services Director.This position will provide services to multiple programs and requires frequent travel in the following counties: Dakota and Hennepin. When a state-owned vehicle is not available and an employee is required to use their personal automobile to conduct authorized State business, the employee will be reimbursed at the current Federal IRS mileage reimbursement rate.Job Duties Include, but are not limited to:

Provide mental health diagnostic assessments to ensure appropriate community supports for individuals served;

Provide individual counseling, group therapy and psychoeducation;

Develop and guide implementation of Individualized Support Plans;

Providing expertise, training, and ongoing support to staff in the engagement and treatment of individuals with chronic mental illness and substance use disorders using Evidenced Based Practices;

Review and update relapse prevention and crisis plans;

Participate in performance improvement and program development committees.

Current State of Minnesota Employees are not eligible for the hiring incentive.Minimum QualificationsTo qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Hold a master’s degree in psychology, social work, behavior analysis, or closely related field; AND

Licensed or license eligible by the State of Minnesota as an independent behavioral health professional (i.e. Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Psychologist (LP), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT); AND

Have at least three (3) years of post-master’s degree experience providing clinical services.

OR

Hold a doctorate degree (PhD, PsyD, or DSW); AND

Licensed or license eligible by the State of Minnesota as an independent mental health professional (i.e. Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Psychologist (LP), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
