The hours of work are generally between 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but days of work and hours may vary depending on program needs.The Behavior Health Services team is seeking a talented, mission driven, person-centered Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) to join our team and make a great difference in the lives of others. The LADC position exists to provide professional substance use assessment, treatment, and education for patients with an identified substance use disorder diagnosis and serious and persistent mental illness throughout Community Based Services residential programs. This position will work with individuals currently on commitment and who have a substance use history. In addition, the LADC will work with multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated services, but function independently, make sound decisions, and seek direction from the Behavioral Health Services Director.This position will provide services to multiple programs and requires frequent travel in the following counties: Dakota and Hennepin. When a state-owned vehicle is not available and an employee is required to use their personal automobile to conduct authorized State business, the employee will be reimbursed at the current Federal IRS mileage reimbursement rate.As a Licensed Alcohol Drug Counselor, you will provide professional independent counseling and case management for individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders in a residential program setting.Job Duties include, but are not limited to:

Conduct comprehensive assessment to identify substance use, behavioral and medical needs;

Provide a person-centered treatment plan, counseling and education;

Provide case management, referral and consultation;

Collaborate with individuals receiving supports, case management, and others identified as the individual's support team to create effective care plans;

Facilitate psychoeducation and training on substance use disorders;

Facilitate groups for individuals receiving services;

Review and update relapse prevention plans;

Participate in performance improvement and program development committees.

Current State of Minnesota Employees are not eligible for the hiring incentive.Minimum Qualifications

Possess and maintain a valid Minnesota driver's license.

To qualify as a Licensed Drug & Alcohol Counselor - Clinical Program Therapist 3, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Be licensed by the State of Minnesota as an Alcohol & Drug Counselor;

AND

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or behavior analysis; eligible candidates also may have a bachelor’s degree in human services or a related behavioral health field and must have completed substantial behavioral health coursework such as: individual or group counseling, clinical interviewing, clinical assessment, crisis intervention, or similar behavioral health courses.

ANDThree (3) years of post-bachelor’s degree experience providing behavioral health clinical services including at least 4 of the 6 activities listed below:

Delivering individual or group therapy, psychoeducation, and interventions

Providing case coordination among multidisciplinary team members

Conducting comprehensive assessments

Leading development of treatment/support plans as required by program licensure

Planning discharge/transition and/or aftercare

Providing behavioral health diagnosis

ORMaster’s degree in one of the above degree programs or marriage and family therapy or other counseling field;ANDOne year of post-master’s degree providing clinical experience as described above.Preferred Qualifications
