The selected candidate will provide research and administrative support to project teams in coordinating multiple federal grant-funded, multi-site, multi-year research studies, specifically within the criminal justice setting. This position requires travel to and from study sites, with the option of staying at a hotel for sites that are farther away.The selected candidate must be eligible to work in the US.This position is benefit eligible. We are pursuing this mission within the context of the Grand Challenges of Social Work by seeking to Harness Technology for Social Good, Ensure Healthy Development for All Youth, Promote Social Isolation, and Eradicate Social Isolation.Our lab utilizes community-based participatory approaches and technological innovations to achieve these aims. Our funded program builds on the interdisciplinary strength of the resource-rich, research-focused environment at the University of Michigan.ResponsibilitiesThe Research Area Specialist will lead research projects mentioned in the job summary within a team environment. These duties include, but are not limited to:

Managing timelines, collaborating with research community partners, preparing deliverables, and communicating with others about project progress among stakeholders.

Preparing reports and presentations to showcase study outcomes and communicate findings to the research team and stakeholders.

Working with prison staff members involved in the research project.

Development of research protocols and intervention protocols, training research staff, and supervising data collection.

Managing IRB applications, including submitting applications, amendments, and continuing reviews as needed.

Managing both quantitative and qualitative research databases, which include monitoring incoming data for quality and accuracy as well as cleaning data as needed.

Assisting with manuscript reviews and other research-related tasks.

Required Qualifications

At least a bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminology, Education, Disability Studies, Social Science, and/or a related field

At least 4 years of working in a prison setting or with a criminal justice population conducting randomized control trial research

Ability to independently travel to prison study sites

Expertise using REDCap, SPSS, Dedoose, and Canva

Desired Qualifications

Previous community-based research experience

Experience with clinical assessments

Social media experience

Work LocationsAlthough the work location will be in the School of Social Work building (SSWB) at 1080 S.
