The Lab Chemist is responsible for the routine and non-routine analysis of samples to determine their chemical and physical properties.This position is based in aLaboratory within a Terminalsetting.Why work for Clean Harbors?Healthand Safety is our #1 priority and we live it 3-6-5!Competitivewages;Comprehensivehealth benefits coverage after 30 days of full-time employment;Group401K with company matching component;Generouspaid time off, company paid training and tuition reimbursement;Positiveand safe work environments;Greatwork life balance;Opportunities for growth and development for all the stages of your career.RESPONSIBILITIESKey Responsibilities:Ensuringthat Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe mannerat all times;Performsnon-routine analysis of samples following prescribed procedures, with theability to solve minor problems;Flexible schedule with the ability to work over Forty (40) hours.Calibratesand utilizes basic instrumentation, with the understanding of theunderlying theories;Performingmaintenance of equipment and suggests solutions to problems;Completesall paperwork associated with the analyses in a neat and timely fashion (ex., calibration logs, run logs, etc.);Ensuresthat all work meets applicable QA/QC guidelines;Propermanagement of waste generated as a result of analytical procedures;Maintaininga safe working environment that is in compliance with all applicable OSHAregulations as well as all applicable company Health and Safety andCompliance protocols;Worksunder the general direction of more senior members of the laboratory;Trainsless senior members of the laboratory;Performstraining and other aspects of Chemical Hygiene Plan as directed by Supervisor;Reviewsall applicable laboratory SOPs, annually, and scores a satisfactory scoreon SOP quizzes;Adhere to all applicable CHES policies and CHES SOPs;Performsjob functions in compliance with the company standard: CleanCompliance;Responsiblefor supply management in their area of responsibility, including properhousekeeping and best management practices;Performsanalysis of samples following prescribed procedures;QUALIFICATIONSWhat does it take to work for Clean Harbors?3+years’ experience in a laboratory setting preferred.ScienceDegree preferred but not required.Previousleadership or senior lab experience is considered an asset.Knowledge in local, state or federal laboratory testing credentials considered anasset.Abilityand willingness to work early morning or afternoon schedule.Understanding of math, chemistry, and chemical testing is preferred.We are willing to provide training to ambitious candidates with some of the knowledge above.Join our team today!To learn more about our company, and to apply online for this exciting opportunity, visit us atwww.cleanharbors.com/careersClean Harborsis the leading provider of environmental, energy and industrial services throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
