Performs work involved in the planning, preparation and cooking of meats, vegetables, salads and other foods.
Performs other kitchen operations including cleaning, washing, serving food, storing food and
other routine manual duties related to preparing and serving food.
High school diploma, required
Food preparation experience, preferred
Serve-Safe Certification, preferred
Minimum of 2 years' experience, preferred
Regularly lift up to 30 pounds and frequently 40 pounds
Able to perform physical work efficiently, with long periods of standing, twisting, and bending
Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop kneel or crouch Able to quickly and accurately fulfill customer orders and requests Familiar with the use/care of kitchen equipment
Works as a team member in a professional and positive manner
Citizenship, residency or work visa required
Salary as per negotiated contract between Newburyport School Committee and AFSCME union
