Sr. Supply Chain Specialist

Description Robert Half is recruiting for exciting opportunity as Sr. Supply Chain Specialist position with an impactful organization in Rockville, MD!Position Overview:As the Inventory and Procurement Manager, you will play a key role in optimizing inventory levels, managing supply chain, and ensuring timely procurement of materials and supplies. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory control, purchasing, and supplier management to support the manufacturing operations and meet production goals.Key Responsibilities:Inventory Management: Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize inventory levels, minimize carrying costs, and ensure availability of materials for production.Procurement: Lead the procurement process, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and placing purchase orders for raw materials, components, and supplies.Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, monitor supplier performance, and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise.Demand Planning: Collaborate with production, sales, and other relevant departments to forecast demand, plan inventory levels, and ensure alignment with production schedules.Inventory Control: Implement inventory control procedures, including cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, and obsolescence management, to maintain accurate inventory records and minimize discrepancies.Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in inventory management and procurement processes. Conduct price analysis, negotiate favorable terms, and explore alternative sourcing options.Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies in all inventory and procurement activities.Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve inventory and procurement processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall effectiveness.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferredMinimum of 3 of experience in inventory management, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Strong understanding of inventory control principles, procurement processes, and supply chain management concepts.Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with suppliers and internal stakeholders.Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
